Bobsledding, a thrilling winter sport that combines speed, precision, and teamwork, has captured the hearts of both athletes and spectators. From the adrenaline rush of the start to the precision of navigating the icy track, bobsledding offers a unique and exciting experience. 3LR are stoke to be sponsoring Jens Hullah, a 23 year old athlete in the Great Britain Bobsleigh Team.
Meet Jens…
Previously I played rugby at my local rugby club Winscombe which I was part of until I was 16. Alongside rugby I was part of the GB U23 rowing team, which I took up full time from 16 onwards but I decided to finish sport in 2022. However after a year off finishing high performance sport I decided to make a return and face a new challenge, trying to reach the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan.
I got into Bobsleigh through my old sixth form (Beechen Cliff), when a former student I knew decided to take it up. I signed up through the British Bobsleigh Website and went down to a taster day where I was scouted to trial for the GB team. At first I wasn’t the best, but over summer I trained alongside working for a local marquee company and labouring to pay for my bobsleigh season.
In September it was announced I was part of the GB Bobsleigh team for the 2023/24 season. Since taking up this season I have gained 3x wider podium finishes (6th -1st place) and made the biggest event outside of the Olympics, The World Championships. I was lucky enough to be part of one of GB bobsleighs best ever seasons to date.
With how this seasons gone, me and my team are aiming to qualify for the Olympics in the 2025/26 season. As part of this 3LR are sponsoring me and are playing a big part in helping GB Bobsleigh reach the Olympic stage. As British Bobsleigh is based in Somerset and I have grown up in this area my whole life, it’s great to have a local company sponsor us and be part of this goal.
